Mary-Jayne Adole

Project Manager

Jayne [she/her] is a cisgender, able-bodied, Nigerian-Canadian woman who grew up in Nigeria and has lived in Toronto, Canada for the past 6 years. She moved to and currently resides in Minneapolis, MN on the land of the Dakota people where she is currently a Master of Public Health student in the Public Health Administration and Policy program at the University of Minnesota. As a licensed physician in Nigeria, she provided care and worked with children and youth living with HIV/AIDS and continued to work with marginalized youth who were precariously housed or fleeing domestic violence in Downtown Toronto. She experienced significant housing instability when she moved from Nigeria to Canada; navigating that situation, coupled with her identity as a woman of color has informed the work she is committed to doing to create and promote opportunities that actively seek to integrate practices, procedures, and services across agencies, systems, and policies to provide comprehensive, coordinated, holistic care. Recognizing that each young person’s life is a unique journey colored by individual, complex challenges, she is deeply committed to working within communities to foster growth, healing, and empowerment by building authentic, dependable, and respectful relationships through working at YHHL.
