Ikram (she/her) is a recent graduate of the University of Minnesota, where she earned a degree in Public Health while pursuing a pre-dental track. As a Somali-American and first-generation college graduate, she is passionate about health equity, youth health, and improving access to care for underserved communities.
As a Research Assistant with the Youth Health and Housing Lab (YHHL), she supports community-centered public health initiatives focused on youth wellbeing, prevention, and health resource accessibility. Her role includes supporting outreach efforts, collaborating on research activities, and contributing to projects aimed at improving health outcomes for young people and vulnerable populations.
Her academic and community experiences have strengthened her interests in culturally responsive care, prevention, and community engagement. She plans to continue her education combining her interests in both public health and dentistry to support communities through equitable and compassionate care.
