Research Summary/Interests:

Bone marrow transplantation (BMT) is a potentially curative option for many hematologic malignancies and non-malignant hematological disorders. Graft-versus-host disease (GVHD), induced by donor T cells that recognize host alloantigenic disparities, is a frequent cause of morbidity and mortality following allogeneic BMT. The focus of my research is to develop therapeutic strategies for prevention of GVHD. The mechanism of negative co-stimulatory pathways including PD-1:PD-L1/PD-L2 pathways in regulating acute GVHD and the functions of B7-H4 expression in alloimmune responses during GVHD will be studied.
