My medical interests and career direction are: I am a physician scientist who wants to pursue a career in clinical medicine, clinical research, as well as teaching and education in a pediatric subspecialty of some sort. Which one exactly I am still undecided but I am interested in allergy/immunology, rheumatology, endocrinology, ID, among others!
My hobbies are: A little bit of everything: cooking, running, camping, kayaking/paddle boarding, reading, gaming, skiing, painting to name a few!
My favorite activity in the Twin Cities is: So far it's heading out onto one of the nearby lakes for an afternoon of kayaking, swimming, paddle boarding around, but I feel like the twin cities have so many activities I have only begun to explore thus far.
Why did you choose the UofM Peds Residency Program? The culture here is phenomenal. Everyone is so supportive, kind, and brilliant at the same time. It's also a world-renowned research center with excellent general pediatric and fellowship training in a variety of subspecialties which is perfect for my career interest as a physician scientist.
What's something that you're #umnpedsproud of? One of my biggest wins so far was going the extra mile to get a family's false positive COVID19 test result precautions removed and contact tracing of everyone involved canceled. It involved an ID consult, more accurate PCR on the same positive-tested sample, and a lot of laughter and smiles once we gave them the good news.
Any additional information you'd like to share about yourself? I moved here with my significant other Erin Lucas who is a PhD post-doctoral fellow in the immunology department now and we are so happy that the UMN could provide the resources for us to be able to move here together and continue our careers together as research nerds.
