Jasmine Banegas (She, Her, Ella) M.A., MSW, LICSW, is a fifth-year PhD candidate in Developmental psychopathology and clinical science at the Institute of Child Development and a LEAH predoctoral fellow. Jasmine is a bilingual clinician with experience since 2017 whose research integrates resilience science, cultural stress theory, and developmental psychopathology to examine how psychosocial and physiological stress affect the mental and physical health of immigrant and refugee youth. Jasmine received her M.A. at the University of Minnesota, MSW at the University of Michigan, and her B.A. from Stetson University. She led the cultural and developmental adaptation of the Trauma Systems Therapy for Refugees (TST-R) skills group curriculum, serves on the research team evaluating the program in Minnesota school districts, and facilitates statewide trauma-informed training sessions through the Minnesota Department of Education. Jasmine brings a practitioner-scientist perspective to her work and is committed to advancing equity through community-engaged mental health research.
