Margaret Dalseth (She/Her) is a master’s student in Nutritional Sciences at the University of Minnesota whose research focuses on advancing evidence-based interventions for athletes with eating disorders. In collaboration with The Emily Program in Ohio, she is leading one of the first studies evaluating an athlete-specific eating disorder treatment model, designing original questionnaires and interviews informed by current literature. Margaret’s prior research includes developing culturally tailored menopause education programs for Hispanic women at the University of Utah, contributing to bilingual health resources, and studying maternal microbiota influences at the University of Minnesota Department of Pediatrics.
Alongside her research, Margaret has extensive experience in sports nutrition and performance, working with Division I athletes through positions at Cornell Sports Fueling Station, Twin Cities Orthopedics Training Haus, and as a sports nutrition counselor. As a current Division 1 runner, she brings a personal understanding of the demands of high-level athletics to her work. Driven by her personal experiences struggling with anorexia nervosa and a commitment to adolescent’s health, Margaret aims to bridge the gap between research and practical interventions that empower individuals to thrive in sport and life.
